Maintenance Supervisor (Mechanical Engineer)

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations at our chemical manufacturing facility in Beasley Texas. This role is ideal for a Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience who brings strong leadership, technical expertise, and a hands-on approach to reliability and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will oversee skilled trades, manage maintenance activities across multiple plant areas, and lead capital projects. This role is also responsible for building and sustaining structured maintenance systems aligned with process safety and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily work of mechanical & E&I trades Manage and prioritize work orders across, three manufacturing areas, administrative and laboratory buildings Ensure safe, timely execution of preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance Develop, implement, and maintain: CMMS / work order management system, a spare parts inventory program, a comprehensive site maintenance program Drive improvements in uptime, reliability, and maintenance efficiency Establish standard job plans, procedures, and maintenance workflows Lead & own capital projects ranging to $1MM – multi site responsibilities Execute projects using: Internal plant resources, third-party contractors when required Manage full project lifecycle: scoping, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and closeout Ensure all projects meet Safety, quality, and compliance standards Ensure all maintenance and project work complies with applicable codes and standards, including ASME (Section VIII, B31.3), API (510, 570, 653), NFPA (70, 70E, 30), AWS, and OSHA requirements Maintain and support Mechanical Integrity (MI) programs for critical process equipment Support regulatory audits and inspections while promoting a strong process safety culture Develop and sustain a maintenance strategy aligned with process safety and reliability goals, including MI, PM, AM, and Predictive Maintenance. Implement reliability practices such as RCM, RCA, FMEA, and asset criticality to improve performance and reduce risk. Establish effective planning and scheduling, backlog management, and standardized job plans Drive CMMS utilization, spare parts optimization, and key maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, planned vs. unplanned work) Support equipment care initiatives (lubrication, inspections) and continuous improvement efforts Train and mentor team members to ensure consistent execution Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Minimum 10 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment Proven supervisory experience with skilled trades Travel – 15% to support capital project work at remote sites Experience managing capital projects Strong working knowledge of applicable industrial codes and standards Bilingual (Fluent in English and Spanish required) Authorized to work in the United States for any employer Preffered Experience building maintenance systems from the ground up Familiarity with CMMS platforms and reliability programs Background in chemical, petrochemical, or similar process industries Experience with both liquid processing systems (blending and chemical reactions) and solid handling equipment Key Skills and Compentencies Strong leadership and team development Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization Ability to multitask & manage rapidly changing priorities in a dynamic, production-driven environment Project management and execution Can-Do Attitude Organization and prioritization Problem-solving and analytical thinking Ability to balance strategy with hands-on execution Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Flexible spending account Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Education: Bachelor's (Required) Experience: Maintenance: 10 years (Preferred) Mechanical engineering: 10 years (Preferred) Capital projects management: 5 years (Preferred) Language: Spanish (Required) Ability to Commute: Beasley, TX 77417 (Required) Willingness to travel: 25% (Preferred) Work Location: In person
