Anticipated Health Science CTE Teacher
Position Summary:This is an anticipated position for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. The Health Science Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher will be responsible for preparing students for careers in the medical and healthcare fields. This position delivers engaging, standards-based instruction while emphasizing real-world applications, hands-on learning, and career readiness skills aligned with healthcare professions.Key Responsibilities:Deliver comprehensive Health Science curriculum aligned with state CTE standards and industry expectationsProvide hands-on, experiential learning opportunities such as labs, simulations, clinical scenarios, and skill demonstrationsPrepare students for healthcare-related certifications and postsecondary education pathwaysIntegrate academic and technical skills relevant to careers in nursing, allied health, and medical fieldsMaintain a safe and organized classroom/lab environment that meets health and safety regulationsUtilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student learning needsAssess student performance through practical exams, projects, and written evaluationsEstablish partnerships with local healthcare providers for guest speakers, job shadowing, or internship opportunitiesPromote professionalism, ethical behavior, and patient care standards in all student activitiesStay current with healthcare trends, technologies, and industry standards Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Science, Nursing, Education, or a closely related fieldKnowledge of healthcare systems, medical terminology, and basic clinical skillsStrong communication and classroom management skills Preferred Qualifications:Prior teaching or training experience in a healthcare or educational settingClinical or industry experience in healthcare (e.g., nursing, medical assisting, EMT, etc.)Experience with simulation-based instruction or lab-based teachingCertification in CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain) Skills & Competencies:Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiencesStrong organizational and planning skillsEffective interpersonal and collaboration skillsCommitment to student success and career readinessAbility to integrate technology into instruction Work Environment:Classroom and laboratory setting with medical equipment and simulation toolsMay involve supervising students in off-campus clinical or internship environments Physical Requirements:Ability to demonstrate medical procedures and techniquesAbility to lift and move equipment as neededProlonged periods of standing and active instruction
