A major focus of this role is supporting and optimizing the Landis+Gyr AMI Command Center, the central platform that drives our advanced metering communication and data management. You will monitor system performance, resolve issues, and enhance the technology that feeds essential functions such as billing, outage management, field operations, and customer service. In this position, you will work closely with IT, Meter Infrastructure, Field Services, and key vendors to maintain system health and keep high-quality meter data flowing. Your work directly strengthens APS's mission to provide safe, reliable, and affordable energy and contributes to a sustainable energy future for our state.What your day would be like:You are responsible for:Monitor and Support Systems: Oversee the daily operation and performance of the Landis+Gyr AMI Command Center to ensure reliable meter communications and high-quality data delivery.Resolve Technical Issues: Troubleshoot alerts, communication failures, and data inconsistencies in partnership with internal teams and Landis+Gyr technical resources.Maintain System Health: Execute routine system checks, validations, and performance reviews to ensure the AMI ecosystem is accurate and available for billing, outage response, and customer service.Collaborate Across Teams: Work with Meter Infrastructure, Field Services, and IT partners to quickly resolve issues and ensure system updates and enhancements are deployed effectively.Improve System Performance: Analyze system trends, identify improvement opportunities, and support efforts to enhance reliability and efficiency across the AMI environment.Who we're looking for:An experienced technical analyst with supporting operational systems, metering technologies, or data integrity environments.A strong analytical problem-solver skilled in diagnosing complex technical issues and delivering root-cause-driven solutions.A collaborative partner who communicates clearly and builds strong relationships with IT, operations, field teams, and external vendors.Someone who values accuracy, system reliability, and delivering high quality customer and operational outcomes.A continuous improvement mindset aligned with the APS Promise to design for tomorrow, empower each other, and succeed together.Minimum RequirementsAMI Systems Analyst III (Landis+Gyr Command Center)Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.Requires strong technical knowledge within a job area or system and basic knowledge across related technical areas.Experience in a 24x7 production support environment (on-call support preferred)Knowledge of safety policies, practices and procedures; basic knowledge of computer science and/or engineering; generation, transmission and distribution system design, operations, and procedures; systems software and database administration; network and workstation technologies; technical issues related to energy management systems and applications; software, hardware and telecommunication; systems for real-time data collection and exchange. Ensure patches are tested in non production environments and approved through formal change management processes. Schedule patch deployments to align with AMI operational windows, avoiding billing, outage, and critical operational impacts. Execute or support patch installation, post patch validation, and system health checks. Verify AMI services, interfaces, jobs, and meter communications are fully functional after patching. Support rollback or recovery procedures in the event of patch failures.
