Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer
Position SummaryFives Intralogistics Corp. is looking for a Senior Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to lead project hardware design. The Electrical Hardware Design Engineer is responsible for the independent design, development, and documentation of electrical control systems for complex material handling solutions, including conveyor systems and sortation. This position works within a team of engineers to develop, design and execute all aspects of hardware design for material handling projects for various customers from kickoff to close. The Senior Engineer role is dynamic and allows you the ability to drive creative design through the whole project and interact and work with various departments.Character QualificationsInnovation – Creative problem solvingConfidence – Takes charge and directs workAccountability – Accepts personal responsibility for actionsIntegrity– Is open, honest and has consistency of characterCustomer Centric – Goes the extra mile for the customerPeople – Is collaborative and works well on a teamEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical controls systems for material handling with no supervision, within the framework of customer specifications and contractual agreements with customers such as Amazon, UPS, USPS, etc.Design of controls hardware within product and integration activitiesWork with Procurement, Project Engineers and Project Managers to execute projectsWork with supervisor and principle engineer to define AutoCAD Electrical development tools required for schematic optimization and automation.Work with system architecture engineers to develop intelligent CAD blocks that can assist in the development of Schematic and PLC creation.Travel to customers facility for meetings as required or Hardware design issues if required. Less than 10% expected.Delegate work to junior engineers and help continue their development.Lead Co-Op’s in learning and developing schematicsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.MustBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (four-year college or university) and minimum of 4 years related experience; or equivalent combination of Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 6 years related experience in Material Handling.Mastery of developing material handling system schematics starting at sales and following through to project closeout to include,Distributed systemsNetwork design and topology480VAC Power distributionPermit set creationUnderstanding and knowledge of UL508A and NFPA70/79Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and OutlookPhysical ability to lift at least 25lbs, work safely on ladders, narrow walkways, and man liftsUnderstanding and basic proficiency in PLC, GDU and HMI programmingDesiredLeadership experienceExperience in commissioning systems7-10 years experienceProven history of developing automated tools for AutoCAD Electrical
