DRiV is the aftermarket business group of Tenneco - DRiV website
Position Summary:
This position will implement, maintain and improve upon established manufacturing and distribution center safety programs, as well as those related to environmental concerns. Encourages and promotes safety. Establishes safety procedures and work instructions. Routinely evaluates new equipment and existing workstations for safety and for ergonomic fit. Investigates incidents to establish and eliminate root causes. Develops plans and methods to meet OSHA’s annual training requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
Directs development, maintenance, and achievement of goals in support of corporate, division and site EHS strategic initiatives which includes:
Supporting EHS goals and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, operations managers, and front-line supervisors
Creating and facilitating EHS engagement needed to accomplish the established goals/objectives for the year
Assist in determining appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track performance against the target goals and objectives
Works with leadership team and EHSS Manager to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations
Drives to promote zero incident EHS culture throughout the site
Uses established EHS data processing tools such as Enablon and ENHESA to manage injury and illness data, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information
Create and distribute monthly training topics. Create training matrices to ensure all training is defined and tracked to completion
Act as primary lead for medical first response. Lead First Responder Program and ensure all responders have appropriate training (i.e. First Aid, CPR, AED and site procedures)
Work with site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key EHS operations controls are in place; maintains EHS compliance calendar, and ensures EHS action items are resolved in a timely manner
Support W/C investigations in coordination with site Human Resources
Provides leadership and support to site facilitators/coordinators (as applicable): such as the Safety Transformation Program/Red Vest Team
Assist with implementation of new requirements by DRiV Harrisonburg’s EHS and operations teams
Monitor federal, state and local air quality regulations and rule makings to understand applicability to, and implications for DRiV Operations
Deliver subject matter expertise related to environmental program compliance in support of DRiV Harrisonburg’s EHS and operational objectives
Recommend process improvements, best practices and lessons learned
Oversee waste handling operations
Conduct internal audits and inspections
Support DRiV Harrisonburg’s compliance assessment process and ISO programs
Qualifications - Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent experience
Professional certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified hazardous Material Manager or country equivalent where available)
3+ years’ experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety programs and employee training
Comprehension of industry, state, and country EHS requirements
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Ability to accurately interpret and communicate rules and standards of practice applicable to DRiV Harrisonburg’s operations
Strong team building skills
Strong organizational skills
Proficient in programs such as the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook), and Enablon (or similar)
Ability to lead and support cross-functional EHS teams and mentor other team members
Demonstrate commitment to safety and environmental compliance in all job aspects
