Hourly Pay Range:$24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Medical Coder IIThe Medical Coder II plays a key role in our hospital's revenue cycle by accurately coding diagnoses and procedures in accordance with established coding guidelines. This position is essential in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.Position Highlights:Position: Medical Coder IILocation: Hybrid - Warrenville, IL and remoteFull Time/Part Time: Full-time (40 hours per week)Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm What you will do:Assign accurate diagnostic (ICD-10-CM) and procedural (CPT) codes to medical records based on clinical documentation, ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and conventions.Conduct internal audits of medical records and coding work to ensure the accuracy and consistency of code assignments.Examine clinical documentation in medical records, working with physicians and clinical staff to clarify and improve documentation as needed for accurate coding.Stay up-to-date with the latest coding guidelines, conventions, and regulatory changes to ensure coding accuracy.Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve coding-related questions and discrepancies and make appropriate code revisions.Ensure coding practices are in compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, as well as HIPAA privacy standards.Generate coding reports and summaries, providing feedback and insights on coding accuracy and trends.Assist in the training and mentoring of junior coders, helping them develop their coding skills and understanding of best practices.Analyze coding data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for process improvement What you will need:Education: Associates Degree, required.
