Prepare monthly budget amendment to present to the Board for approval. Assist in preparation of expenditures as compared to budget and other analyses as requested. Manage the stipend budget allocations working with principals, department heads, Human Resources and Payroll in assigning allocations to employees. Handle confidential information and frequent contact with all levels of district employees, outside agencies, and the general public.Qualifications:Education/Certification:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field (required)Special Knowledge/Skills:Technical knowledge of Texas school finance, budgeting and accounting systemsAbility to work under the pressures of deadlinesAdvanced skills in ExcelDetail oriented and analytical thinkerExcellent communication skills, written and verbalWork in a fully integrated ERP systemExperience:Two years in Finance in a public school setting or financial and budget analysis experienceTwo years using fully integrated financial ERP web-based systemMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Assist in the compiling of District, campus and program budgets and cost estimates, prepare and submit budget reportsPrepare budget agenda item and report for amendments requiring Board approvalAssist in preparation of expenditures to monitor and compare expenditures to budget and other analyses as requestedCreate and maintain the budget worksheets in TEAMS. Assign budget allotments where applicable, review and submit for approval to the Director of Budget and ComplianceCreate and maintain the employee stipend budget allocations. Work closely with principals, department heads, Human Resources and Payroll in assigning stipends to employees throughout the yearResearch expenditures with an understanding of the account code structure and the District policy regarding expendituresPrepare adjusting budget entriesAssist with year-end adjustments to the general ledger including expenditures to budget analysis for TEA complianceFollow all rules, regulations and policies of Plano ISD and follow directives from supervisorsFollow attendance policy as assigned by supervisorPerform other functions that may be assigned by the administration and/or supervisorWorking Conditions:Mental Demands:Reading; ability to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner; ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing); ability to operate personal computer; ability to meet established deadlines; ability to maintain accurate and auditable records.
