Christopher Heights of Webster is an assisted living community committed to providing a vibrant and social community atmosphere and promoting independence. Our residents receive three meals a day, personalized care and services, socially engaging activities, and special events. Our community consists of 83 apartments with a range of various styles.
We are seeking dedicated, and highly motivated CNA's and HHA's to join our team.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Encourage and support the concept of assisted living by meeting the personal needs of the residents of Christopher Heights.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide residents with personal care services on an individual basis including:
Assist with showering or whirlpool bath.
Assist with dressing and undressing.
Assist with grooming and hygiene.
Encourage socialization.
Assist resident in recreational activities.
Assist with ambulation and escorts to meals as needed.
Assist with laundry.
Respond to medical emergencies.
Document all unusual activity and changes in functional or nutritional status.
Assist with medication reminders.
Follow recommendations and instructions from Physician, Licensed Nurse, and Director of Resident Care Services.
Contribute to psychological and social needs of the residents.
Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
Assist in the serving of resident meals.
Assist with dining room clean up.
Carry out security checks according to shift requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the Resident Service Manager, Licensed Nurse, Director of Resident Care Services, or Companion Supervisor (e.g., housekeeping chores).
QUALIFICATIONS / STANDARDS REQUIRED FOR EMPLOYMENT:
Ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language fluently.
Position requires some pushing, pulling and lifting under 35 pounds.
Must be qualified in one of the following programs:
Certified Nurse Aide Program
Home Health Aide Program
Completion of a 54-hour program as a Personal Care Assistant Provider
Attend and participate in Continuing Educational Programs.
Demonstrate knowledge of the following:
Fire and disaster plan
OSHA rules and regulations
Safety management
Infection control practices
Blood borne pathogen standard
Aging process and related disorders
In the event the replacement on the next shift has either called out sick or is going to be late in arriving, the employee must stay until ample coverage is arranged to ensure the safety of the residents. In the event coverage is not able to be arranged, the employee must stay until the following replacement shift arrives. The employee will be paid for all extra time worked in accordance with Federal and State Law as described in the Grantham Corporation Employee Handbook.
We are currently hiring for 1st shift; 7a - 3p (part time) with every other weekend commitment.
