Construction Manager
Overview:

Construction managers have many responsibilities, including:
Planning and budgeting: Prepare and follow project budgets, including timetables, estimates, and resources
Staffing: Hire and manage staff, and allocate responsibilities
Coordination: Coordinate with other workers, managers, engineers, architects, and surveyors
Quality standards: Provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure quality standards are met
Safety: Ensure projects are completed safely
Reporting: Report to senior leadership on project progress
Construction Managers should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to multitask while analyzing and solving problems. They should also have a thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations, and be able to adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes, and other requirements.
Some common requirements for site managers include:
The ability to travel. Travel may be upwards of 50%.
