This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to public infrastructure projects while developing technical and professional skills within a collaborative, supportive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with plan checking for encroachment permits; land development grading plans, street plans, water and sewer plans, drainage plans, and drainage studiesReview traffic control plans for compliance with applicable standardsCoordinate with utilities, contractors, consultants, and municipal departmentsSupport construction management activities, including resolving field issues when neededPrepare technical documentation, reports, and project correspondenceRequired Skills & KnowledgeUnderstanding of engineering principles related to public works, utilities, and/or land development projectsWorking knowledge of plan preparation, including mass grading, rough grading, precise grading, storm drain systems, street improvements, and sewer and water plansFamiliarity with land development processes, including entitlements, conditions of approval, hydrology and hydraulics, storm water quality management plans (SWQMPs), and final mapsAwareness of relevant local, state, and federal regulations applicable to public works and development projectsFamiliarity with CEQA is preferredStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Experience & Software QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of professional experience preferredAny combination of civil design and/or civil plan check experienceProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and ExcelExperience using Bluebeam and Adobe Acrobat requiredExposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, ArcView, or ArcInfo is a plus Education & CertificationBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institutionProfessional Engineer (PE) License requiredSalary Range: $40.00/hr - $45.00/hrMore about Interwest: https://interwestgrp.com/Interwest Consulting Group is a municipal consulting firm focused on providing thoughtful, tailored solutions that build thriving communities.
