Purchasing Manager (East Chicago)

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement operations across two manufacturing facilities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring consistent material flow, driving cost efficiency, and building strong supplier partnerships to support production and customer delivery.What You'll DoLead end-to-end purchasing for raw materials, services, and plant needs across two sitesSource, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, quality, and deliveryDrive supplier performance through metrics around cost, quality, and on-time deliveryIdentify and execute cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement opportunitiesManage the full procurement lifecycle—from requisition through order placement and confirmationPartner closely with plant leadership to align purchasing strategy with operational needsResolve supplier issues, including quality concerns, delivery delays, and billing discrepanciesAnalyze spend data to uncover trends, mitigate cost increases, and improve buying strategiesSupport ERP system functionality and ensure procurement processes remain efficient and accurateWhat You BringBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)Experience in purchasing or procurement within a heavy manufacturing environmentStrong negotiation skillsAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced settingAbility to travel to other facility based in the midwest (max 20%)Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP experience a plusSalary Range: $110,000-$130,000Benefits:Health, dental, and vision, life, short/long term disability insurance401(k) offeringPaid time off and holidays (80 hours PTO)Paid sick leave where applicable by state law.LHH is a leader in permanent recruitment—and in the placement of top talent.
