Nuclear Structural Engineer

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to provide technical leadership and engineering expertise for major capital projects. In this role, you will leverage your knowledge of civil/structural engineering analysis and design, along with your experience in nuclear industry engineering processes, to ensure project success. Your expertise will be crucial in detailed reviews and verifications of engineering change packages, as well as fostering collaboration across multi-discipline engineering teams. Responsibilities: Develop detailed engineering documents, including design change packages, 50.59 screens, applicability reviews, and engineering assessments, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Support engineering activities related to piping replacements, floor loading evaluations, and rigging of heavy loads, contributing to the successful execution of major capital projects. Review engineering deliverables such as calculations, drawings, procedures, contingency plans, and training materials, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards. Perform design verifications and owner's reviews to ensure compliance with nuclear fleet design standards, maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality. Provide field support during project implementation, ensuring engineering intent is met and safety and quality standards are upheld throughout the process. Participate in project schedule and outage planning meetings, providing engineering insight and direction to optimize project timelines and resource allocation. Qualifications Required Skills Civil/Structural Engineering degree (B.S. required; M.S. ABET accredited). Familiarity with standard civil engineering codes. Experience preparing and reviewing 10 CFR 50.59 Screens. Experience in the nuclear industry. Preferred Skills 10+ years of design engineering experience. Qualified in Engineering Design Change per Standard Design Process IP‑ENG‑001. Experience developing equipment design and procurement specification documents. Background supporting large capital projects. Experience preparing equipment specifications.
