Inpatient Psychiatrist – Behavioral Rehabilitation Unit Northwell Health – Sleepy Hollow, NY Northwell Health’s Department of Behavioral Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health team at Phelps Hospital. The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. This position supports a 22‑bed, 28‑day substance use rehabilitation unit that provides acute, round‑the‑clock care to adults 18 years and older, focusing on co‑occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Responsibilities include: Conducting psychiatric evaluations and developing individualized treatment plans. Providing pharmacologic and therapeutic interventions for patients with substance use and mental health comorbidities. Coordinating care with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, behavioral health counselors, licensed social workers, behavioral health assistants, and recreational therapists. Participating in daily team meetings and case conferences. Ensuring compliance with OMH and OASAS regulations for inpatient psychiatric and chemical dependency services. Qualifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Medical degree from an accredited institution. Valid medical license in New York State. Strong clinical and interpersonal skills. Experience with substance use disorders preferred.
