Mainframe IMS System Programmer (Openings: 1 Position) Open for W2 and C2C arrangements (W2 Folks Preferred first)Location: Chandler, AZ; Plano, TX; Charlotte, NC; and Jersey City, NJ from Day 1 (Client prefer local folks)Hybrid Schedule: 3 Onsite Days (Tue, Wed, Thur) & 2 Remote Days (Mon, Fri)Duration: 6+ months, extendableDirect client opportunityProject: Urgent Mainframe Infrastructure RequirementNo mid layer / No Implementation partners are InvolvedMode of Interview: 2 Rounds mostly virtualJob Description:Mainframe IMS System ProgrammerResponsible for supporting and managing IMS DB and IMS TM subsystems on IBM z/OS, ensuring stability, availability, performance, security, and integration in a mission-critical environment.Mandatory Requirements Include:7 plus years of IBM z/OS experienceHands-on IMS DB and IMS TM administrationDBD, PSB, and ACB managementIMS control regions and transaction processingBuffer pool tuning and performance optimizationIMS utilities, backup/recovery, and DR strategiesTroubleshooting logs, dumps, abends, and database errorsIMS integration with DB2, CICS, MQ, TCP/IP, and distributed systemsRACF security controlsSMP/E, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and SDSFSysplex and high-availability architecture experienceWillingness to work onsite three days per weekPreferred Experience:IMS modernization and API enablementz/OS Connect and REST integrationOMEGAMON, MainView, or RMFREXX, Ansible, or z/OSMF workflowsTCP/IP and Assembler routinesIMS routines and exit routinesDB Control experiencePay Range: $65/hr - $70/hrThe specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
