Senior Account Directors are not closely supervised; instead, they are mentors and leaders for other staff. They usually serve as account leads and primary contacts for multiple key clients, providing high-level client counsel and managing the success of internal teams. Senior Account Directors build lasting relationships with their clients, negotiating resolutions to client conflicts as needed, as well as communicating regularly to provide ongoing strategic recommendations leading to consistent account growth and continued client profitability. In this role, the Senior Account Director will thrive unearthing cultural trends and audience behaviors that inspire award-winning work and client success. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvides client counsel and directs complex advertising, brand development, digital, website and marketing technology work Ensures appropriate financial management and profitability of clients, manages out of scope requests at program/campaign level and reviews strategic investments, securing VP-level approval Serves as primary business owner for both client and internal account teams for all elements relative to their clients, including client conflict resolution, presenting pricing to client, leading internal and client facing meetings and presenting strategy and creative work to clients Develops initial and ongoing strategic recommendations and plans that solve business objectives for clients, acts as oversight of strategy and provides strong brand stewardship; collaborates with creative directors, media leads, production team, PR teams and digital team as appropriate to develop recommendations, strategies, and pricing Oversees and is responsible for client research and planning, strategy briefs, project briefs, and post-campaign metrics and reporting for client Partners with Leadership to lead and support new business opportunities including RFP responses and pitch presentations Drives organic growth and expansion opportunities with existing clients through ongoing strategic recommendations (up sell) and educates clients on additional agency capabilities (cross sell) Works with Management to authorize client contracts (LOA/MSA) Secures authorization for SOWs, client POs and case study approvals EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE15+ years’ experience in brand/advertising, digital/web and marketing technology, agency experience required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree within appropriate discipline such as Business, Marketing, Advertising, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required Specialist experience in one or more of the following key areas: advertising, brand development and digital marketing technology and strategy/planning COMPETENCIESDemonstrates an overall understanding of and appreciation for all the agency service offerings/capabilities and in-depth knowledge in key focus areas Solid experience in advertising, brand development and/or marketing technology strategy who understands and pushes the boundaries of traditional marketing Service-oriented with the ability to balance keeping clients satisfied, while delivering solid counsel A business mindset to understand what clients’ successes look like and ensure goals are met, while also achieving success for the agency A demonstrated ability to effectively work with agency and client teams to develop and execute plans to meet client goals Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to demonstrate proven success in managing multiple projects simultaneously A natural presenter and meeting leader A strategic thinker and leader who loves to come up with unexpected solutions that delight clients
