The client is looking for a builder, not a maintainer, who thrives in complexity and is energized by cross-functional leadership, process design, and modern legal tools like AI and LLMs.
Responsibilities
Contract Leadership: Draft, negotiate, and manage a variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS client contracts, channel partnerships, NDAs, and complex vendor terms.
Risk & Compliance Strategy: Anticipate and communicate regulatory and operational risks. Partner closely with compliance, product, and operations to support responsible growth.
Infrastructure Creation: Design scalable systems, templates, and workflows to support legal operations without unnecessary overhead.
AI Integration: Use large language models and legal tech to streamline contract review and internal legal operations.
Executive Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership and the CEO on business strategy, deal execution, and regulatory navigation.
Qualifications
7+ years of legal experience with a mix of in-house and firm roles preferred
Early-stage, high-growth environment on nimble team
Strong experience in fintech, SaaS, or high-growth environments
Proven ability to lead contract negotiations with speed, nuance, and commercial awareness
Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and systems thinking
Comfortable working in ambiguity and fast-moving deal cycles
Familiarity with AI/legal tech tools (e.g., LLMs, GPT-based tools, legal automation platforms)
