Our Construction Safety Professionals partner directly with General Contractors to implement effective safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a proactive, site-wide safety culture. This role requires strong field presence, leadership capability, and the ability to collaborate across multiple trades and stakeholders.The Project Safety Manager / Construction Safety Professional shall possess the qualifications and experience necessary to support complex construction environments while ensuring full compliance with client, company, and regulatory safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a safety resource to the General Contractor, subcontractors, and project teamMentor, coach, and train field personnel on OSHA standards, company policies, and industry best practicesPromote and sustain a positive safety culture through active engagement with workers and site leadershipParticipate in and support daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings as required by the projectConduct routine site safety inspections, audits, and observations; identify hazards and recommend corrective actionsLead and support safety processes including Pre-Task Planning (PTP), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), permit programs, and incident investigationsFacilitate new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and task-specific trainingMonitor compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 standards and site-specific safety requirementsPrepare and maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and metrics for project leadershipSupport high-risk work activities including electrical safety, fall protection, confined space entry, crane operations, lockout/tagout, and hot work permittingAssist with contractor compliance, site audits, corrective action tracking, and continuous improvement initiativesRequired QualificationsCandidates must meet one of the following qualification pathways:Option 1:Minimum of 3 years of full-time construction safety management experienceBachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety (or related field)Option 2:Minimum of 5 years of full-time construction safety management experienceBoard-certified safety credential from a nationally recognized organization such as:CSP (Certified Safety Professional)CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist)ASP (Associate Safety Professional)CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician)CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional)CCOHS equivalentOption 3:Minimum of 6 years of full-time construction safety management experienceCurrent OSHA 500 CertificationPreferred ExperienceExperience supporting a General Contractor on large-scale commercial or industrial construction projectsData Center construction experience preferred, but not requiredExperience using and interpreting safety monitoring equipment/meters is highly preferredStrong working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards (29 CFR 1926)Working knowledge of high-risk activities including electrical safety, fall protection, confined space, crane operations, excavation, and critical liftsProven ability to influence and collaborate with field teams, supervisors, subcontractors, and managementStrong hazard recognition, risk assessment, and problem-solving skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and/or safety management systemsPhysical Requirements & Work ConditionsThis position requires active field presence on construction sites. Duties include standing, walking, climbing ladders, working at heights, entering confined spaces, and navigating uneven terrain throughout the workday. The role may involve lifting up to 30 lbs. and working in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, or precipitation.
