Vellum Architecture & Design EmployerAsheville, NC, USLocation:Full-timeTypeTue, Feb 17 '26Posted on:Seeking Architectural Designer (3–4 Years Experience)Vellum Architecture & Design is seeking an Architectural Designer with 3–4 years of professional experience to join our Asheville-based studio.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys modern residential design but also understands that successful projects are built through strong documentation, technical problem solving, and reliable execution.We are looking for a designer who can contribute creatively — but who is equally comfortable working through construction documents, redlines, and the detailed realities of getting buildings built.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage BIM models through multiple project phasesProduce construction documents with clarity and technical rigorImplement redlines accurately and efficientlyAssist in developing and detailing creative but buildable solutionsTake ownership of assigned project tasks from start to completionEstimate time required to complete work and consistently meet schedule and quality expectationsSupport coordination with consultants, contractors, and internal team membersContribute to maintaining organized, accurate project documentationRequired Qualifications3–4 years of professional experience in an architectural practiceStrong experience working on modern residential projectsProfessional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)Core SkillsStrong BIM proficiency (Revit preferred)Demonstrated ability to produce and contribute to construction document setsComfortable working through technical detailing and problem-solvingAbility to execute redlines thoroughly and efficientlyDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAble to manage time effectively and meet deadlinesCapable of working independently when neededAdditional Strengths (Preferred)Some commercial project experienceWorking knowledge of construction methods and assembliesPrior construction experience or field exposure is a plusInterest in how buildings are actually put togetherStudio FitThe Ideal CandidateTakes ownership of their workUnderstands the importance of documentation qualityThrives in a collaborative studio environmentBalances design thinking with technical executionIs proactive, reliable, and accountableLocationThis is an in-person position based in Asheville, North Carolina.About VellumVellum is a boutique architecture studio focused on modern residential work and select small-scale hospitality and commercial projects.
