Quality Operations Manager

The Operations Quality Manager is responsible for leading quality assurance activities within manufacturing operations at Amphenol PCD, ensuring all products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. This role supports aerospace and industrial interconnect product lines, driving operational excellence, compliance to AS9100, and continuous improvement across production processes.The position plays a critical role in reducing defects, improving process capability, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a high-reliability environment.Essential FunctionsEnsure effective deployment and maintenance of Control Plans, PFMEA, and inspection strategiesDevelop, coach, and lead a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and techniciansLead all shop floor quality activities across machining, assembly, and inspection operations for connector, cable, and interconnect productsDrive zero-defect initiatives aligned with aerospace customer expectationsManage nonconformances including containment, disposition, and corrective actionsLead structured root cause analysis for internal and customer issuesPartner with Manufacturing Engineering to improve process capability and reduce variationOversee First Article Inspection activities in compliance with AS9102 requirementsMonitor and improve key metrics: scrap, rework, FPY, COPQ, and customer returns Support and lead customer audits, source inspections, and quality escapes investigationsCollaborate with Supplier Quality to address incoming material issues and drive supplier performanceDrive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce wasteEnsure alignment with the QMS team for compliance to AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirementsAdditional duties as assignedRequired SkillsStrong knowledge of AS9100 QMS requirements and aerospace quality expectationsHands-on experience with FAI, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and CAPAExperience managing MRB and dispositioning nonconforming materialProven ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentStrong data analysis skills with ability to drive decisions using quality metricsExcellent communication skills with ability to interface with customers and internal leadershipRequired EducationBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related fieldThe base salary range for this role is $120,000 USD - $140,000 USD, plus bonus. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
