Operations Supervisor (Slab)
Summary: The Operations Supervisor is directly responsible for the day to day supervision of the shift Lead(s), Warehouse Floor, and Team Members. The Supervisor provides any necessary leadership and training to the team members. This role is also responsible for managing the functionality of the department(s), and ensures all areas are properly able to execute the daily workload.Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 07:00 AM to 05:30 PM, 2 Saturday(s) a month from 07:00 AM to 01:00 PMSeniority Level: Mid-Senior LevelEmployment Type: Full-timeCompensation: This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $25 to $28 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $71,750 and $90,740 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:Responsible for ensuring all functions are properly staffed to execute varied workload volumes.Manage the workflow of the Slab department with a team of 5-7 employees.Safely lead and support the Slab Team(s) in Unloading inbound cargo containers, movement of slabs, Order picking, and Loading functions.Maintain and manage Safety and Quality standards and processes.Ensure timely Slab Department performance; work closely with Leads and Team Members to ensure Customer Orders meet standards.Manage daily/weekly/monthly safety, quality, and productivity reportingMaintain a safe work environment by driving a Safety First Culture at all times.Maintain a clean and hazard free warehouse operation.Provide Leadership, training, and supervision to approximately 5-10 team members.Supervise and operate overhead crane and team members.Supervise and operate forklift and team members.Continuously develop leadership capabilities and professional growth of the team.Responsible for all facility/equipment maintenance and supplies.Perform additional duties as required and or requested.Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:High School Education or Equivalent required2+ years of specific relevant work experience in a Leadership Role.Bachelor's Degree with emphasis on Logistics or Operations Management preferredForklift experience a plus.2 years of experience with overhead cranes is preferred.Large Stone Slab experience is preferred.Must have 2 years of supervisory/management experience.Must have supervised at least 5-7 team members.Must have 2 years of Distribution Center Operations experience.Lean Manufacturing principles highly desired.Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Related industry experience; natural stone, tile or hard flooring industries preferred.Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs.Strong knowledge and understanding of Distribution and Warehouse Management applicationsDemonstrated leadership and managerial abilitiesExcellent oral and written English language communication skillsProvide high level of customer serviceMust have excellent People Management and Time Management skills and abilitiesGood organizational skillsThis role has the following physical demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
