Project Manager — Energy Storage Deployment

Recently awarded certification for both European and North American standards, the company is backed by prominent investors and is actively scaling its deployment operations to meet growing commercial market demand.The OpportunityWe are hiring a Project Manager to own the full deployment lifecycle of intelligent energy storage systems across commercial building sites nationwide. This is a high-ownership role at an early-stage company where you will have direct influence over how the deployment function is built and scaled. You will lead projects from initial site feasibility through design engineering, permitting, procurement, installation, and final system handover — partnering closely with customers, contractors, engineers, and internal teams to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to quality standards.Success in this role requires strong project management instincts, technical fluency in electrical systems, and a hands-on approach to getting things done in the field.What You Will OwnLead the full project lifecycle from feasibility and concept development through design engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, and customer handoverConduct site feasibility assessments — reviewing panel schedules, electrical infrastructure, and site conditions to determine project viability and develop proposal packagesManage the design engineering phase including AutoCAD coordination with third-party engineers and licensed PEs to produce stamped construction documentsOwn the permitting process — preparing and submitting permit packages to AHJs, managing plan check corrections, and driving approvals through to construction releaseCoordinate with utilities, building departments, fire marshals, and other Authorities Having Jurisdiction to ensure regulatory compliance and project approvalsManage purchase orders, procurement, and material logistics to support project timelinesOversee contractor and subcontractor performance in the field — holding teams accountable to schedule, budget, safety, and quality standardsServe as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle, managing expectations and ensuring a high-quality delivery experienceCollaborate with internal engineering and software teams to ensure successful system integration and commissioningDevelop and refine scalable deployment processes, templates, and best practices as the company growsManage multiple concurrent projects across different sites and geographiesWhat We Are Looking ForBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related technical fieldMinimum 5 years of experience in project management, electrical construction, or energy systems deploymentDemonstrated experience managing the full pre-construction lifecycle — site feasibility, design engineering coordination, permitting, and AHJ approvalExperience coordinating with licensed engineers and producing or reviewing construction documents including single-line diagrams and electrical plan setsStrong project management skills — scheduling, budget tracking, risk management, and multi-site deliveryDirect experience managing contractors and subcontractors in the fieldFamiliarity with NEC, NFPA, and applicable building and electrical codesAbility to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions under pressurePreferred Qualifications:Experience with battery energy storage systems, solar PV, or commercial electrical infrastructureFamiliarity with NFPA 855 and UL 9540 requirements for energy storage installationsExperience with AutoCAD or similar design toolsPMP certification or equivalent project management trainingProcore or similar construction management software experienceBilingual Spanish and EnglishAdditional RequirementsThis role is based in Irvine, CA and requires being onsiteTravel is expected to support site feasibility, construction oversight, and project delivery across customer sitesCompensation and BenefitsBase salary: $115,000–$170,000 depending on experienceMeaningful equity upsidePremium medical, dental, and vision plansGenerous PTO and company holiday calendarTeam-building activities and company-sponsored eventsWhy Join UsYou will be one of the first project managers at a well-funded, product-certified energy storage company at the beginning of its commercial scaling journey.
