MEP Estimator I - Electrical

MEPT Estimator ISUMMARYMortenson is currently seeking a MEPT Estimator I - Electrical that will be responsible for leading estimating efforts of gathering, calculating, and compiling data to produce project estimates for a small or medium project or in support of a lead estimator on a larger project.This role is located at our Head Quarters in MNS ponsorship: Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.RESPONSIBILITIESOrganize, plan, and schedule for estimate preparation, facilitating necessary meetingsPrepare comprehensive and reliable estimates, incorporating all relevant informationCollaborate with project team and estimating leadership to determine trade partner strategy and prepare invitations to bid/budgetObtain relevant documents, including BIM, to complete quantity survey and understand project scopeEnsure complete quantity survey of materials/resources required for the projectUtilize cost history to inform scope, pricing, and productivitiesWork with Project Sponsor and Estimating Leaders to ensure estimates meet margin goals and prepare margin plan for approvalPrepare for and participate in Bid Day or presentation to ownerBuild and maintain relationships with Operations Personnel, design partners, trade partners, and ownersDevelop industry knowledge base through available resources, trade journals, conferences, and projectsQUALIFICATIONSAssociate or Bachelor's degree in Estimating, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experienceConstruction industry experience preferredAbility to perform quantity survey for a MEPT system (Mechanical/Plumbing or Electrical/Technology)Gain knowledge and understanding of one scope (M/P or E/T)Contact and scope trade partners for area of focusContact equipment vendors for pricing and delivery schedulePrepare budget breakdown form for MEPT trade partner proposals on small projectsBuild and maintain relationships with trade partners for focused areaCreate list of potential trade partners for assigned projectsAwareness of potential code impacts due to new code adoptionA few benefits offered include:(for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week)Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount Program**The base pay range for this role is $78,800.00 MIN - $98,500.00 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
