Service Electrician
DescriptionPosition Summary:Work involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical/electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. The National Electrical Code and all other applicable standards and specifications are followed.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Demonstrate safe work habits, comply with company safety requirementsMeasures, cuts and bends conduit, using a tape measure and hand toolsPulls electrical wire and cable in conduit using manual and power equipmentMoves/handles various equipment and spools of wireInstalls electrical raceways and wire, conduit, lighting fixtures, controls, machinery and electrical distribution equipmentInstalls and bends conduit using manual, mechanical and hydraulic bendersProper care for material, tools and equipmentAssist electricians by performing various tasksOperates power tools such as drills, saws, pullers, tuggers, etcInstall and maintain secondary distribution systemsInstall and connect power supply wiring to and between machines and equipment by following manuals, schematics, and blueprintsTest malfunctioning equipment and repair or replace faulty wires, cables, or electronic componentsRepair electric motorsInstall and maintain distribution boxes, switching gear, power and control circuits, etc.Install and maintain telephone equipmentRequires knowledge of process, procedures, and methodsRequires knowledge of process, procedures, and methodsRequires the use of common courtesy in everyday contacts with employees, clients, and the general publicRequired to carry a pager or cell phone and be on-call when necessaryNight/weekend work as requiredWork as required in varying weather climatesThe ability to travel out of town and stay overnight as requiredTeach, train, and guide electrical apprentices working under licensed Journeyworkers Position RequirementsPhysical Requirements:Must be able to physically lift up to and in excess of 75 poundsMust be able to climb ladders and steep stairs, crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, pushing and pulling objectsRepetitive use of arms, hands and fingersAbility to wear Personal Protective EquipmentAbility to work at elevated heights on ladders and/or scaffoldsSpecific vision abilities requiredMust be able to physically work up to ten to twelve hour daysPhysical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the jobEducation/Experience:Associate's degree (A.
