Job Title: Conversion Pay Details: The starting hourly rate for this position is $24.00 per hour. Conversion team members are responsible for event set-up at the Honda Center from one event to the next. This includes setting up for hockey, basketball, concert, family shows, trade shows, rodeo, tennis, theater events, boxing, mixed martial arts events, and other facility set-ups. Conversion team members will work with Conversion Leads and Operations Managers to ensure configurations are followed and all safety standards are met. Conversion team members may also assist in daytime set-up, working closely with Maintenance and Engineering staff with special projects as needed. This is a part-time event-based position that is extremely physically demanding and requires adhering to specific time-sensitive deadlines. Hours of shift will fluctuate based on arena event schedule. ResponsibilitiesAccurately set-up arena based on floor plans and Blueprints along with following all OSHA-required lawsDisplay knowledge of proper safety techniques with hand/power tools, lifting, and other work tasksPerform tasks under extreme time-sensitive deadlines while maintaining a safe work environmentPerform a variety of assembly tasks, including, but not limited to:Assembling floors, hockey dasher boards, staging, fight rings, TV Platforms, and any other sports surfaces as neededSet up including media and press areasInstallation and removal of hockey glassInstallation and removal of ice covering systemSet-up up of folding chairs in a timely and accurate methodSafely operate tools to assemble arena seatingLocker room and showroom set-upsSet-up outdoor stagingOperation of electronic equipment like chain and hoist systems, retractable seating systems, and spectator nettingInstall and remove railing systemClean and maintain equipment as neededProperly store all operations/conversion equipment and report any issues with equipmentClean and organize any other equipment from the backstage area that is not stored correctly and maintain a safe work environmentBecome familiar with the arena to navigate the building efficientlyWork with counterparts in other departments to ensure events run smoothly and safelySupport Operations and any other departments as needed and follow management instructions as deemed necessaryComplete daily checklists at the conclusion of each shift, making sure all conversion-related tasks are performed correctly upon departureAttend all safety classes as required by Anaheim Arena ManagementWear assigned safety equipment to scheduled shifts SkillsAble to understand and follow directionsPossess safe ladder, lifting, elevated work skills (following training)Strong verbal communication skillsAble to learn quicklyAble to stand for long periodsAble to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and various times of the dayAble to understand and perform tasks with AAM-required safety equipmentAble and willing to be a team playerAble to work in fluctuating temperatures and work on the iceMust be able to lift, pull, push, grasp up to 150 lbs. occasionally and 100 lbs. frequentlyMust stand, bend, walk, climb consistently through the shift Knowledge, Skills and Experience Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience Required - 0-1 Year This position is on-site.
