After-School Breakdance Student-Instructor

WeBreak is excited to interview for our new teaching opportunities, starting May 2026. We would love to connect with those interested in getting involved. Student-Instructor Qualifications & Requirements Prior teaching experience with grades TK–6th, or some experience working with the youth is required (paid training). Prior breaking experience is NOT required, but some dance or movement-related experience is required (paid training). Must learn our introductory WeeBreaker breaking curriculum & moves. Must learn & understand WeBreak's teaching methods. Must have a passion for learning and sharing breaking history & culture. Must be available during 1 PM - 6 PM after school teaching hours (Monday-Friday), for 1-3 hours of teaching (a minimum of 3 week days). Must meet 2 year commitment to this student-instructor apprenticeship. Must have reliable transportation. Must live within or near the teaching region (currently hiring within Long Beach, Los Angeles, Inglewood, Glendale, and Costa Mesa). Responsibilities Complete student-instructor training. Adhere to and teach WeBreak curriculum & methodology. Tracking program activities (e.g. taking attendance, class announcements). Attend weekly meeting with manager (online). Sustain excellent communication with the team. Provide in a timely manner & stick to consistent teaching schedule. Attend WeBreak company events (e.g. Soul Evolution, Recitals, Holiday Team Trip). Show up as a leader and role model for the youth (i.e. being on-time, professional). Encompass WeBreak Mission Statement, Core Values, and Three C’s (listed below). All training is paid, earn while you learn. Consistent hours available with our structured, season-long programs. We handle the admin and curriculum—your job is to teach and inspire.
