Delivery Driver at Warehouse
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Operate a light truck or van to pick up and deliver mail, equipment, materials, supplies and District funds; assist in the District warehouse operations. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE OF: Safe driving practices and traffic laws. Basic principles and methods of servicing automotive equipment. Proper loading and unloading of vans. Basic record-keeping techniques. Proper methods of lifting heavy objects. ABILITY TO: Drive an assigned vehicle to pick-up and deliver supplies, equipment and materials. Read road maps, labels and route schedules. Maintain routine records. Perform basic math calculations. Perform heavy physical labor. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Work cooperatively with others. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma or equivalent and responsible experience in driving light vehicles in delivery work.REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: The following MUST be attached to application on or before the deadline:High School Diploma OR Equivalent ORAssociate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree or Higher Education DegreeSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATES Valid California driver’s license. Presentation and continuance of a satisfactory driving record which assures maintenance of liability insurance coverage. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment physical examination. Cost of the exam will be borne by the District. A pre-employment drug screening will also be administered. If selected for the position, out-of-district applicants must be T.B. tested and fingerprinted.
