Our work combines sophisticated design, premium construction standards, and a collaborative team culture to deliver exceptional custom homes throughout the Hamptons and expanding markets to other regions.As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a highly organized, financially driven, and construction-experienced Construction Financial Controller to join our leadership team in Austin, Texas.This is a key position responsible for overseeing the companys financial operations, construction accounting systems, payroll oversight, job costing, and financial reporting across multiple company entities and locations.Position DetailsThe Construction Financial Controller will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll oversight, job costing systems, and financial controls for the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong construction accounting experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to support both financial accuracy and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.This role will work closely with company leadership, accounting personnel, project managers, estimators, HR, and operations teams to help maintain strong financial systems and accountability throughout the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & ReportingOversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations across multiple company entities and locationsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsMaintain general ledger accuracy and financial integrityAssist leadership with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial planningCoordinate with external accountants, auditors, insurance representatives, and tax professionalsUtilize and oversee accounting systems including QuickBooks and related financial reporting platformsConstruction Accounting & Job CostingOversee project-based accounting, budgeting, and job costing systemsMonitor project budgets, commitments, subcontractor costs, purchase orders, and project financial performanceManage Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and construction financial reportingEnsure accurate allocation of labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, and overhead costs to projectsReview contracts, schedules of values, change orders, and billing structures for financial accuracyOversee and coordinate AIA billing processes and related financial documentationWork closely with Project Managers and Operations teams to maintain accurate project financial data within Procore and related construction management systemsPayroll Oversight & Labor Cost ManagementOversee payroll coordination and payroll-related financial controls across multiple company locations and entitiesReview payroll reporting, labor allocations, project coding accuracy, and payroll-related financial reportingEnsure payroll expenses are accurately reflected within job costing and accounting systemsCoordinate with HR, accounting, and operations teams regarding:employee classificationstimekeeping accuracyPTO trackingovertime monitoringlabor cost reportingpayroll compliance requirementsAssist with implementation and oversight of payroll and workforce management systems including:QuickBooks TimeADPand related payroll software platformsSupport payroll audits, labor reporting requirements, and operational accountability systemsOperational Leadership & Process ManagementCollaborate closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Site Supervisors, HR, and company leadershipHelp establish and improve financial controls, operational procedures, and workflow efficiencySupport multi-location financial coordination between offices, field operations, and accounting teamsAssist with implementation and oversight of construction technology and management systems including:ProcoreQuickBookspayroll and timekeeping systemsdocument management and reporting platformsDevelop and maintain organized financial and operational reporting systemsParticipate in KPI-based operational performance and accountability initiativesDepartment LeadershipSupervise accounting and financial support personnelAssist with training, workflow development, and operational accountabilityPromote professionalism, responsiveness, accuracy, and collaboration throughout the organizationMaintain confidentiality and uphold company standards throughout all financial operationsQualificationsRequiredBachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of accounting or financial management experience within the construction industryStrong understanding of:construction job costingWIP reportingAIA billingpayroll oversightbudgeting and forecastingaccounts payable and receivablelabor allocation and reportingExperience with:ProcoreQuickBookspayroll and timekeeping systemsStrong Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skillsExcellent organizational, analytical, and communication abilitiesPreferredExperience within luxury residential constructionMulti-entity accounting experienceExperience overseeing payroll operations across multiple locations or divisionsCPA or advanced accounting certifications preferred but not requiredCompensation & BenefitsSalary Range$115,000 $140,000 per yearCompensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and construction financial management expertise.BenefitsHealth InsuranceDental & Vision Insurance Options401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysPerformance-Based Bonus OpportunitiesProfessional growth and advancement opportunitiesCollaborative and technology-forward work environmentWork EnvironmentThis is an in-person position based in Austin, Texas.
