Accounting Manager

We’re a close-knit, high-energy team that values accountability, collaboration, and getting things done the right way.ADS is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations for ADS and our portfolio of association clients. This role will manage day-to-day accounting, provide financial oversight across multiple entities, and supervise our junior bookkeeper.The Accounting Manager reports to the Director of Operations and works closely with internal leadership, client executive directors and treasurers, and external accounting partners.This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys structure, variety, and being a trusted financial resource in a growing organization.Key ResponsibilitiesADS Corporate AccountingOversee all accounting functions for ADS, including AP/AR, payroll coordination, general ledger, and month-end closeManage cash flow, budgets, forecasting, and internal financial controlsPrepare internal financial reports for leadership and operationsCoordinate with external CPA, payroll providers, and benefits vendorsAssociation Client Financial ManagementManage accounting and financial reporting for multiple association clients, including:Monthly financial statementsBudget tracking and variance analysisEvent and program financial reconciliationMembership, sponsorship, and exhibitor revenue trackingSupport audits, tax filings, and Form 990 preparation in coordination with external accountantsServe as a financial resource to executive directors and internal client teamsTeam Leadership & Process ImprovementSupervise and mentor the junior bookkeeper, ensuring accuracy and timelinessEstablish and maintain accounting processes, documentation, and deadlinesImprove systems and workflows to support growth and scalabilityQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity or multi-client environmentExperience with nonprofit and/or association accounting preferredExperience with association management systems (GrowthZone, WildApricot, etc) a big plusTechnical aptitude to keep accounting systems, websites, payment portals and bank accounts in syncProficiency in QuickBooks Online requiredStrong Excel / Google Sheets skillsExperience supervising or mentoring junior staffHighly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-drivenComfortable communicating financial information to non-financial colleaguesWhy Join ADS?Be part of a collaborative, high-energy, no-drama teamWork with a growing firm and a diverse portfolio of clientsPlay a key role in strengthening and scaling our financial operationsCompetitive salary and benefitsGorgeous office spaceOption to work from home on FridaysBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insuranceGenerous PTO Professional development assistanceTuition reimbursement
