Qualified applicants will be assessed on their skill level and scheduled for an interview at our office.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Read a tape measureLayout MaterialFit-Up MaterialRiggingRead a blueprint/drawing/tech manualComprehensive Torch and Weld WorkRadius GageHand Power ToolsShop Tools/EquipmentRequired Education and Experience:Must have verifiable Tig experience.Ability to comprehend and utilize blueprints, sketches, drawings, and technical manuals to weld metalsMust have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and be able to multitaskUnderstand the Work Process to measure, cut, and weld metal (of multiple material types) to the required specificationsAbility to weld metal using various requirements and procedures such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ongoing deadlinesMust be able to work independentlyUnderstanding of the Ship repair industryMust be DBIDS and TWIC credential-eligibleThe pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on a 5'' schedule 80 carbon steel pipe.?GTAW (TIG) process is used for root pass, and 11018 electrodes are used for the weld fill portion and cap.Working Conditions:Open-air conditions such as noise, hot and cold, and in an office-controlled environment.May have to visit projects aboard ships, rigs on and offshore, and confined spaces.
