Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education (UME)Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine at AtlantiCare Health SystemSoutheastern New JerseyLead the Future of Medical Education - Regional Campus LeadershipTemple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM), in partnership with AtlantiCare, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) to lead the academic, clinical, and operational success of its regional campus.This is a senior leadership role serving as the primary representative of the Dean's Office, responsible for advancing a high-quality, innovative, and fully integrated undergraduate medical education program aligned with institutional priorities and Liaison Committee on Medical Education standards.Your Impact:Campus Leadership & Representation: Serve as the senior on-site leader representing the Office of the Dean, overseeing all local academic and administrative mattersEducational Program Oversight: Ensure excellence in UME delivery, including curriculum implementation, clinical education, and site comparability across campusesClinical Education Development: Lead clinical course site identification, development, and evaluation to ensure high-quality learning environmentsFaculty Engagement & Development: Partner with department chairs to recruit, onboard, and develop faculty; oversee adjunct faculty appointmentsOperational Excellence: Direct day-to-day campus operations, including staff supervision, workload management, and program deliveryStudent Recruitment & Experience: Support medical student recruitment and enhance student experience at the regional campusAccreditation & Quality Improvement: Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation standardsPartnership Development: Build and sustain strategic relationships with healthcare providers and community organizations to enhance medical educationSimulation & Infrastructure Oversight: Collaborate with institutional teams to maintain simulation, IT, and educational infrastructureFinancial Stewardship: Oversee regional campus budget development, resource allocation, and financial performanceInstitutional Collaboration: Strengthen alignment between the regional campus and main campus through communication, shared initiatives, and faculty integrationCommunity & External Engagement: Represent LKSOM in community events, partnerships, and regional academic initiativesTeaching & Academic Contribution: Participate in didactic and clinical teaching as appropriateWhat You'll Lead:A growing regional campus delivering a comprehensive MD programA multidisciplinary faculty across core and elective clinical disciplinesStrong partnerships between an academic medical school and an integrated health systemCollaborative relationships with course directors, residency leadership, and institutional stakeholdersWhat We Offer:Competitive executive compensation packageLeadership stipend and performance incentivesComprehensive benefits, including retirement plans, malpractice coverage, and CME support dedicated administrative and operational infrastructureOpportunity to shape the future of a regional medical campus within a nationally recognized academic institutionQualifications:MD or DO degree requiredBoard certification in a clinical specialty preferredAcademic rank of Associate Professor or higher (or eligible)Demonstrated leadership experience in undergraduate medical education (e.g., Clerkship Director, Course Director, Assistant/Associate Dean)Strong understanding of accreditation standards and medical education best practicesProven ability to lead faculty, manage operations, and drive strategic initiativesWhy LKSOM at AtlantiCare?This partnership combines the academic rigor of Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine with the clinical excellence of AtlantiCare, creating a unique environment for innovation in medical education.
