HR & Payroll Manager
Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR and Payroll Manager to oversee payroll processing and human resources operations across multiple related business entities. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll administration, benefits management, compliance with state and federal regulations, and maintaining organized HR records.Work ScheduleSchedule: Fully onsiteDays: Monday through FridayHours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PMKey ResponsibilitiesPayroll AdministrationProcess accurate weekly payroll for a multi-entity workforce and ensure proper job and department codingAdminister payroll for both union and non-union employeesSubmit certified payroll reports and ensure compliance with applicable wage regulations when requiredCoordinate with external partners supporting payroll tax filings and compliance activitiesMaintain payroll records and ensure accuracy and timeliness Human Resources OperationsManage full-cycle HR responsibilities including recruiting, onboarding, and employee separationsMaintain accurate and compliant employee files and HR documentationCoordinate employee benefit enrollments, changes, and reconciliationsTrack employee certifications, training, and compliance requirements Compliance and ReportingEnsure HR practices align with federal, state, and regulatory requirementsSupport compliance reporting, documentation tracking, and internal auditsMaintain HR metrics, reporting accuracy, and workforce records Collaboration and SupportWork closely with finance and leadership to support payroll and HR initiativesCommunicate proactively regarding payroll, compliance, and employee-related mattersContribute to process improvements and operational efficiency Qualifications5+ years of HR and payroll experienceExperience processing weekly payroll requiredExperience supporting both union and non-union payroll environments is strongly preferredConstruction, contracting, or project-based workforce experience is a plusStrong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating with internal teamsStrong organizational and data management skills Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive salaryMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) retirement planPaid Time Off and company holidaysStable, collaborative, and professional work environmentAscendo is an equal opportunity employer.
