Estate Planning Attorney

*Trust and Estate Attorney - Napa or Roseville* GVM Law, LLP, a premier Northern California firm focused on wealth preservation, tax, and business planning for high-net-worth individuals, families, and privately held businesses, is seeking an Estate Planning Attorney to join our Trusts & Estates group in either our Napa or Roseville office. *Position Overview* The attorney in this role will focus on foundational and advanced estate planning, trust and probate administration, and related tax and business-succession matters. The position offers direct client contact, mentorship from certified specialists in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law, and a clear path for professional growth in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment. Candidates of all experience levels and legal backgrounds with an interest in trusts and estates are encouraged to apply. Preference is 3+ years of focused experience in estate planning, trust administration, and probate, and/or related tax issues (estate and gift tax, GST tax, income tax, property tax). *Qualifications* * J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California. * Client-service mindset and a genuine interest in working in this area of law. * Professionalism, integrity, and judgment appropriate for representing high‑net‑worth clients and family‑owned businesses. * Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, client‑friendly manner. * Strong drafting skills and attention to detail in preparing legal work. *Representative Projects* * Draft and review a wide range of estate planning documents, including revocable living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advance health care directives, and related ancillary documents. * Assist with more advanced planning structures under partner supervision, such as irrevocable grantor trusts, retained interest trusts (e.g., GRATs, QPRTs, CRTs), and entity‑based planning for tax and succession purposes. * Handle trust administration and probate matters from intake through completion, including correspondence with fiduciaries and beneficiaries, marshaling and distribution of assets, and preparation of court pleadings and related documents. * Coordinate with clients' other advisors (CPAs, financial advisors, and other counsel) on tax, property tax, and business‑succession issues impacting the estate plan or trust/estate administration. * Conduct legal research and provide written analyses on estate planning, trust administration, probate, tax, and property tax issues as they arise. *Compensation and Benefits* GVM Law offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.
