Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller: Fargo Jet Center, and affiliates Reports to: Controller Location: Fargo, ND Position OverviewFargo Jet Center is growing—and with that growth comes increasing complexity across multiple aviation business lines. We’re looking for an Assistant Controller who will play a key role in scaling our accounting function, strengthening financial processes, and helping shape how financial data drives business decisions. This is not a maintenance role. It’s an opportunity to step into a high-impact position where you’ll influence systems, improve processes, and partner with leadership to support a dynamic, fast-moving operation. The ideal candidate thrives on refining processes, improving efficiency, and enhancing financial systems in a collaborative, growth‑oriented setting. Financial Close & Reporting Lead key aspects of the month-end close, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement  Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements  Identify and implement ways to streamline close and reduce cycle time  Accounting Operations Oversee core accounting workflows including AP, AR, billing, and cash management  Ensure accuracy, consistency, and policy compliance across transactions  Strengthen processes to support a growing, multi-entity environment  Process Improvement & Systems Optimization Drive automation and process improvements to reduce manual work and improve data visibility  Evaluate current workflows and implement scalable solutions  Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Help optimize use of systems (NetSuite experience a plus)  Controls & Compliance Maintain and enhance internal controls across departments  Support audits and ensure GAAP compliance  Build structure and consistency as the organization grows  Financial Partnership & Analysis Support budgeting and forecasting across business units  Translate financial data into actionable insights for operational leaders  Play a visible role in driving efficiency, profitability, and long-term growth  What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 5+ years of senior level accounting experience (multi-entity or operational environments preferred, aviation a plus)  Strong GAAP knowledge; CPA preferred  Proven track record of improving processes and increasing efficiency  Strong systems and Excel skills (NetSuite a plus)  Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a growing environment
