Maintenance - Hourly

I. POSITION PURPOSEThe temporary facilities maintenance position will provide general maintenance of St. Mark parish and school buildings and grounds, including minor electrical, plumbing, lighting and heating (natural gas boilers), as a stop gap until a full-time facilities maintenance manager is found.II. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms preventative maintenance to buildings and grounds to minimize plumbing, mechanical, electrical, lighting and heating system (boilers) failures.Diagnosis problems and make repairs to facilities, including plumbing and mechanical repairs, minor electrical. Other task may include pressure washing of sidewalks and asphalt, painting, some carpentry, lighting checks and organizing work garage and workspaces.Taking inventory of tools and maintenance suppliesDrip irrigation system repairs: watering hoses, sprinkler heads, timers, etc.Provides recommendations input to supervisor for preparation of monthly/annual maintenance, supplies and capital repairs budgets.Performs other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor and/or Pastor.Has demonstrated good communication skills and is able to take direction as neededIs well organized with an attention to detail and apt in problem-solvingProven experience as a facility maintenance worker/handymanExperience with hardware, tools, and electrical equipmentBasic understanding of electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.Some knowledge of natural gas HVAC systems helpfulThe ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodationScale Ladders and use mechanical lifts to access roofs and high-reach areasFrequently moves boxes weighing up to 50lbs across campusFrequently stands, kneels reaches, bends, grabs, holds, twists etc. to perform maintenance tasks.Works indoors and outdoors throughout the year as duties require.Ability to walk, bend, stand, and or kneel for the duration of shiftAbility to carry and use tools to perform tasks: Vacuums, Backpack Vacuums, Mops, Brooms, Brushes, Ladders, Stools, Riding Mower, Saws, lawn equipment, etc.Ability to work with chemical cleaning agentsAbility and willingness to engage with parishioners and guests in a professional and respectful manner.Must Pass Background Check as prescribed.Must provide 3 references (Not related to you)Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
