Special Education Teacher in Brattleboro, VT

Job Description Bachelor&#39;s or Master&#39;s degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.An educational opportunity is available for two Special Education Teachers to work in-person at elementary schools in Brattleboro, Vermont. These positions focus on delivering high-quality instruction and support to students with special needs, ensuring they thrive academically and socially.Ideal candidates will hold a Vermont K-12 teaching license or be eligible for a K-12 provisional license, allowing flexibility to serve students from elementary through high school levels as needed. We are seeking highly qualified educators with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in special education. This expertise is essential to manage an average caseload of approximately 15 students, providing individualized attention and tailored instructional strategies.Key qualifications and experience:Vermont K-12 teaching license or eligibility for a K-12 provisional licenseMinimum of 3 years as a Special Education TeacherExperience working with diverse exceptional learners in an inclusive educational settingAbility to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teamsStrong communication skills for interaction with students, parents, and staffCommitment to ongoing professional development and student advocacyLocation: Brattleboro, VT (in-person only)Responsibilities include:Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) aligned with state standardsCollaborating with classroom teachers, therapists, and administrators to support student outcomesMonitoring student progress and adjusting interventions accordinglyParticipating in scheduled after-school meetings with adequate prior noticeMaintaining comprehensive documentation and complying with all regulatory requirementsThis is a Monday through Friday role, typically from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with occasional after-school meetings planned well in advance.Qualified educators passionate about fostering inclusive learning environments are encouraged to apply.
