This role is crucial in fostering a culture of safety, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. The Ramp Safety Manager will work collaboratively with various departments to identify safety concerns, conduct thorough investigations of incidents, and provide training to enhance the safety awareness and practices of all ramp personnel. In this leadership position, you'll oversee ramp and employee safety initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with airlines and internal teams to deliver world-class safety standards.Main AccountabilitiesTo ensure compliance of company employee and ramp safety initiatives and airline requirements at assigned CSCsAddress safety issues with internal and external customers and facilitating successful resolutionsAudit of CSCs in pro-active stance to include training, retraining and new hire files, documentation of records and standardization of Safety Management Guide and Ramp Safety Operating ProceduresConduct mock OSHA and Ramp Safety Audits at CSCsCoach and support CSCs to ensure customer satisfaction in airline audits and compliance with airline requirementsCoach and support CSCs to ensure trainers are trained properly to conduct driver/guide/coordinator trainingAnalyze trends in employee injuries, aircraft, auto and property damages and help implement action plans to achieve reduction in damages and injuriesProvide accident/injury investigation and root cause analysis training for CSCsActively participate in safety meetings with business partners (e.g. ARTEX, Continental, UPSLT-Delta)Attend customer training for certification of aircraft doors, galleys, etcOversee the collecting and trending analysis of all employee injuries, aircraft, auto and property damagesImplement action plans to support proactive measures to help CSCs achieve major reduction in employee injuries and aircraft damagesAdminister regulatory compliance with ramp issues dealing with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Federal Aviation Agency (FAA), Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), California OSHA and airline customer requirementsParticipate with airline manufacturers to design new trucks for new air craftsParticipate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Lean ManufacturingModel corporate values and participate as required in groups, initiatives and advisory bodiesProactively support other departments and functions as the Subject Matter ExpertKnowledge, Skills and ExperienceStrong understanding and applicability of Employee Safety, Ramp Safety and or Ground Handling Safety Area (OSHA, FAA, DOT)Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining relationships with airline security personnel, airport authorities, local, state and federal law enforcement authoritiesAbility to work with legal counsel to prepare cases and must be able to gather and preserve evidence for presentingDemonstrated ability to influence managers by establishing and maintaining collaborative partnershipsGood communication, presentation skills and organizational abilityAbility to interact, communicate and train management at all levelsExcellent language and writing abilitiesGood knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applicationsBachelors Degree in Safety or Aviation Ground Safety preferredIn addition, five to seven years operations and safety experience requiredLSG Sky Chefs is an EEO and Aff...J-18808-Ljbffr
