Job Description Tax Professional Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will work directly with our Liberty Wealth Management clients to help create a well-thought-out strategy, using a variety of investments and insurance products and services to address their financial needs and concerns. This person will have in-depth knowledge of tax regulations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to provide strategic tax planning for individuals and businesses. This role involves preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and advising clients on financial and tax-related matters.Key ResponsibilitiesTax Preparation & Filing: Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations.Tax Planning & Compliance: Advise clients on tax strategies to minimize liabilities while ensuring full compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements and records to identify potential tax savings and risks.Audit Support: Assist clients with tax audits, respond to IRS inquiries, and provide documentation as needed.Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on tax laws, industry trends, and new regulations that may impact clients.Client Consultation: Provide timely tax planning and advisory services by answering questions and providing requested tax planning and preparation deliverables.Record-Keeping & Documentation: Maintain accurate tax records, reports, and documentation for internal and external audits.Qualifications & SkillsCertified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's in Taxation is a plus).Minimum 5 years of tax accounting experience in public accounting or a corporate tax environment.Proven ability to handle and manage tax services for 200+ households.Proficiency in tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, ProSeries, Lacerte, UltraTax, etc.).Strong understanding of tax laws, accounting principles, and financial reporting.Strong interpersonal skills: Must have a pleasant attitude, team player, and excellent coaching abilities.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions.High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Experience with stock options is required Experience filing 706 and 709s Experience with tax preparation for estate planning and trusts. Preferred QualificationsExperience working with high-net-worth individuals or business entities.Familiarity with IRS audit procedures and tax dispute resolution.Experience working with Financial Wealth Companies strongly preferred. Working Conditions and Compensation:Contracted position with the ability travel to Oakland, CA., and Larkspur, CA.Hybrid schedule with preferred in-office hours for client consultations. Full-timeCompensation based on experience.Compliance:Strong commitment to adhere to all rules and regulations as outlined by the Liberty Group and relevant regulatory bodies.Physical and Other Requirements:This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and hand use for computer operation. You will need to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and team members, both in writing and verbally.
