Job Title: Geospatial Solution Architect (ArcGIS Enterprise)Location: Pennsylvania (Hybrid / Onsite as required)Job Type: Contract (Funded through 06/30/2027; extensions possible)Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Geospatial Solution Architect to lead the design and integration of enterprise-grade geospatial solutions using ArcGIS Enterprise. This role operates at the intersection of GIS and enterprise IT, driving scalable integration strategies that connect geospatial platforms with core business systems, APIs, and cloud services.The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in ArcGIS architecture, enterprise integration, and transportation-focused GIS solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesTransportation & GIS StrategyInterpret federal/state transportation GIS mandates (HPMS, MIRE, ARNOLD) into technical solutionsDefine best practices for enterprise GIS governance, quality, and lifecycle managementArchitecture & DesignDesign end-to-end geospatial solutions using ArcGIS EnterpriseDevelop architecture diagrams, integration frameworks, and technical roadmapsBuild scalable GIS service patterns aligned with enterprise architectureSupport GIS cloud migration, performance tuning, and optimizationEnterprise IntegrationImplement integration patterns (REST, SOAP, APIs, ETL/ELT, messaging)Design APIs, data pipelines, and middleware connecting GIS with enterprise systemsUtilize tools such as ArcGIS REST API, Python, FME, and webhooksIntegrate GIS with ERP, asset management, and transportation systemsData Engineering & AutomationDevelop geospatial data models, geodatabases, and LRS datasetsBuild automated workflows using Python, ArcPy, and geoprocessing servicesEnsure data governance, quality, lineage, and metadata standardsCollaboration & LeadershipLead technical design sessions and stakeholder workshopsCollaborate with architects, developers, planners, and engineersProvide technical direction across cross-functional teamsInnovation & ModernizationEvaluate emerging GIS technologies and analytics (AI/ML, real-time data)Lead modernization initiatives including cloud and spatial data platformsSupport enterprise GIS roadmap developmentRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, or related field5+ years of transportation-focused GIS experience (DOT or similar environment)Strong experience with ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server, Datastore)Expertise in enterprise integration (APIs, ETL/ELT, data pipelines)Proficiency in Python, ArcPy, SQL, and geoprocessing workflowsExperience with spatial data modeling and geodatabase management (PostgreSQL, SQL Server)Hands-on experience integrating GIS with transportation or asset systemsKnowledge of GIS data governance, security, and complianceFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum or ITIL methodologiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsPreferred QualificationsGISP Certification (URISA)Esri Certifications (Enterprise System Design, ArcGIS API Developer)Experience with transportation safety datasets and analytics platformsExperience in large-scale GIS modernization or cloud architecture initiativesTechnical SkillsLanguages: Python, JavaScript, SQL, C#, ArcGIS ArcadeGIS Tools: ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS HubIntegration Tools: ArcGIS REST API, FME, APIs, WebhooksDatabases: PostgreSQL (PostGIS), SQL Server, MySQLVersion Control: Git / DevOpsWorking ConditionsHybrid or onsite work as requiredOccasional after-hours support for maintenance or critical operationsWhy JoinOpportunity to modernize statewide transportation GIS systemsWork on enterprise-scale geospatial architecture and integrationHigh-impact role supporting data-driven decision making and public infrastructureInterested candidates can apply with their updated resume.
