This leader will serve as the central point of coordination between Sales, Media Operations, Trading, Product, Finance, and Account Management, ensuring that all commercial opportunities are structured to maximize revenue, protect margin, and scale efficiently. Reporting to the VP, Programmatic Media Trading, this role will build and lead a high-performing Deal Desk organization that transforms ad hoc inventory requests into a disciplined, repeatable, and data-driven monetization engine. The Director, Deal Desk will play a critical role in professionalizing how Genius Sports monetizes supply and audiences across curated marketplaces, PMPs, and guaranteed deals.Main ResponsibilitiesDeal Strategy & Commercial PackagingOwn the end-to-end design of PMP, PG, and curated marketplace deal packages aligned to company supply strategyTranslate market demand, client needs, and sales priorities into scalable inventory and audience solutionsDevelop standardized deal constructs and packaging frameworks that can be reused across regions and verticalsPartner with Sales and Account Management on complex, high-value, or non-standard commercial opportunitiesOwn the relationship with priority publisher partners in order to proactively procure inventory packages and manage ongoing campaign requirements.Pricing, Yield & Rate Card GovernanceDefine and maintain rate cards, floor pricing, and margin guardrails across inventory and audience productsEstablish approval frameworks for non-standard pricing, discounts, and commercial exceptionsPartner closely with Finance on revenue forecasting, profitability analysis, and yield optimizationMonitor market benchmarks, DSP demand signals, and competitive dynamics to evolve pricing strategyOperational Excellence & Process DesignImplement and own centralized deal intake workflows (e.g., Salesforce, ticketing systems)Standardize templates for media plans, targeting, packaging, and commercial documentationOversee QA and trafficking readiness in partnership with Media Operations and Trading teamsMaintain a centralized knowledge base and library of approved deal structures and best practicesCross-Functional LeadershipAct as the connective tissue between Sales, Media Ops, Trading, Product, Finance, and Customer SuccessInfluence product and inventory roadmap decisions based on market demand and packaging needsPartner with Product Marketing to merchandise new inventory, audiences, and capabilitiesProactively drive enablement and education for client-facing teams on upcoming inventory packages, deal constructs, pricing, and executionWork with Sales & Customer Success teams to procure partners that fill existing product gaps where needed.Team Leadership & DevelopmentRecruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing Deal Desk team (analysts, planners, and operations managers)Establish KPIs and SLAs for deal turnaround time, quality, margin, and performanceFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and commercial rigorScale the Deal Desk organization in line with revenue growth and deal complexityWhat You'll Bring8+ years of experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, media operations, or commercial strategyDeep expertise in SSP/DSP mechanics, inventory packaging, curated marketplaces, and deal executionProven experience owning pricing strategy, yield management, and commercial governanceStrong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholdersTrack record of building scalable processes and high-performing teams in growth environmentsCommercial mindset with comfort owning revenue, margin, and operational outcomesIt Will Be a Bonus If You KnowHave experience in sports, premium video, or live-event media organizationsHave worked closely with agency buyers and holding companiesAre fluent with SSPs, DSPs, Salesforce, Confluence, and BI / reporting toolsBring experience from revenue operations, commercial strategy, or monetization rolesThe annualized base salary for this role ranges from $140,000 to $149,000 USD and includes eligibility for additional variable compensation.
