Sr. Electrical Field Service Technician

As a Sr. Electrical Field Service Technician on our Field Service team, you will be the primary interface with customers after projects are complete. This highly technical, dedicated team ensures maximum up-time of equipment for our customers, while also identifying potential sales for aging equipment or where enhancements or modifications might be needed. We manage a variety of systems including standard products and custom projects in the material handling, robotics, aerospace, environmental, and other applications. In this role you will be responsible for inspection, service and repairs of overhead, revolver, and nuclear cranes. You have responsibility for planning and coordinating routine inspections, repairs resulting from inspections, execution of aftermarket upgrades and commissioning of standard PAR products within the industry. Examples of this work include things such as:Document services by maintaining records and writing technical reports detailing field work performedAbility to read and interpret electrical control schematics and diagramsFundamental understanding of electrical and mechanical testing proceduresFamiliarity with electrical test equipment and fundamentalsExperience in performing extensive testing, problem identification, troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting and modernization of industrial cranesPerforming scheduled preventative maintenance on installed cranesThe ability to evaluate the operating condition of equipment and recommending repairs to customersComputer literacy and the ability to generate detailed reportsStrong verbal and written communication skills communicating with customersWorking in environments that may require standing, walking, bending, crawling, and working at heightsFollowing a safety procedures, including those required by the customerPreparing reports and completing post job paperwork, including electronic forms required by the customersSupervising installations at customer sites, including subcontractors and coordinating with customer site superintendents/foremen Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform work with single phase and three phase power and control systems from 100 to 480 Volts AC and 5 to 800 Volts DC.Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help troubleshoot, install, and repair equipment.Perform tasks and install components to specifications in accordance with mechanical assembly prints, electrical and other system schematics.Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.Work with automation systems including PLC, motors, and VFD/ DC drives.Update drawings and provide feedback / solutions when issues are found during electrical installations, upgrades and rebuilds.Troubleshoot all machine technical issues and provide feedback to the appropriate departments.Interface with all departments, as necessary to provide good communication throughout the project.Effectively prioritize work assignments and demonstrate good time management.Mentor and cross-train other teammates as needed.Work overtime and weekends as required.
