Job Summary
This position will be responsible for the technical project management of multiple Naval Special Warfare efforts in the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL). Specifically, leading project planning, staffing, technical design oversight, fabrication, integration, at-sea testing, and support for undersea sensing and communications systems, with an emphasis on high-frequency SONAR technology research and development efforts.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with engineering teams to develop, document, and execute system designs that are on schedule, within budget, and are validated and verified against sponsor requirements.
Coordinate with engineering teams and supervisory chain to maintain and track progress against critical development and testing events.
Handle administrative project management and business functions as required by project needs.
Assist in the identification, planning, and acquisition of new projects and funding from DoD sponsors.
Documentation and presentation of technical materials to internal and external stakeholders.
Identify personnel resource needs; identify candidates, interview, and hire full-time engineering staff members.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, engineering management, or similar technical field.
Five years of project management experience.
Demonstrated experience developing and leading technical projects.
Three years of demonstrated experience in managing engineering teams.
Experience planning, developing and executing technical project plans across a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists and technical staff.
Demonstrated ability to document, maintain and present technical information to internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in related field.
At least five years of demonstrated experience in technical project management.
Experience with high-frequency SONAR or other underwater sensor systems.
Prior military or defense system development experience.
Experience with Department of Defense acquisition processes.
Experience working with classified information systems.
Security and Eligibility
This position requires a U.S. citizen. The applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements. A criminal history background check will be required for finalists under consideration for this position.
Salary Range
$100,000–$140,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
