Be AccountablePosition Title and SummaryThe Portables Driver is responsible for servicing assigned route(s) with the servicing of portable restrooms, hand wash stations, and other equipment within the Portables Division. The driver represents the company in a safe and respectable manner while servicing customer accounts dispatched to him/her throughout the day and communicating regularly with dispatchers and supervisors.Reports ToOperations SupervisorResponsibilitiesOperate truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policiesService portable restrooms, hand wash stations, and other company equipment to the expectations that meet or exceed the company's standards for serviceComplete assigned routesCommunicate with dispatch as route changes or issues ariseMaintain and update route sheetsConduct pre-trip/post trip vehicle inspectionsMaintain and update drivers log sheetsProfessional interaction with internal and external customersKeeping truck clean and operating properly within driver's abilityOther duties as assignedQualifications / Knowledge / Critical SkillsAbility to read and understand a mapAbility to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, includingAbility to work overtime, weekends and/or holidaysGood written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customersPrevious CDL truck driving experience preferredWaste industry experience, a plusAdditional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of businessLegally eligible to work in the United StatesMust be at least 21 years of ageMust comply with all components of the CDL / DOT requirements for safe driving and compliance such as proper license class, medical card and MVR requirementsMust speak and understand English well enough to communicate, understand and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals and safety trainingPhysical Demands / Environmental FactorsRepetitive lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing up to 40lbsAbility to work in all weather conditionsExposure to residential and commercial wastePossible exposure to high traffic conditions while outside of the vehicleThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.Lakeshore Recycling Systems is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
