Advanced Energy has devoted four decades to perfecting power for its global customers and is headquartered in Denver, Colorado.The Engineering Technician support engineering activities such as design, test, verification, modification, fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting of prototype electro mechanical systems to meet production schedules and performance standards. They will receive instructions on daily work and new assignments. Duties and tasks are standardized but what is performed will vary day to day.Responsibilities:Performs various production assembly operations on electronic components and sub-assembliesUses test procedures, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot unitsWorks on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where the ability to recognize nonconformities is requiredCommunicates openly and effectively in a professional mannerUnderstands and follows all safety requirementsUnderstands and follows all ISO practices and proceduresMaintains fixturing, performs calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenanceMay assist with training other AE employees in established processesPerforms the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assembliesDocuments test results accuratelyMay act as the technical interface with other departmentsModels professional and positive work ethicsConsiders the impact of quality on the customers when making decisionsAbility to effectively work in a team environmentWork Environment:Location: Wilmington, MassachusettsWorks in a manufacturing environment which may be noisy and fast pacedMany tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of electronic assembly equipmentOvertime (OT) may be required in times of increased productionQualifications:Previous experience in electrical circuits and assemblies testing preferredProven ability and experience maintaining flexibility and being able to adapt in a team environmentKnowledge and understanding of ESD practicesAbility to perform basic reading, writing, and math functionsSoldering skills requiredAbility to perform basic electro/mechanical assembly skillsComponent Identification and the ability to read technical assembly documentation and schematics requiredBasic computer knowledgeExperience:3+ years relevant work experience in the following:Switch Mode Power Supply DesignUsing Simulation and Calculation Tools in product development such as Simplis/Simetrix, Mathcad, and knowledge of PLECS and PSIM a plusStrong Research & Development backgroundEducation:AAS degree in electronics or equivalent preferredMust have high school diploma or equivalentCompensation:The range of starting pay for this role is $35 to $45 per hour.Benefits:Advanced Energy offers a rich benefits package that includes: Medical - multiple medical plans are available to choose from, Short and long-term disability and life insurance, Health savings and flexible spending accounts, Generous time off policy starting with 3 weeks of paid vacation, 7 days of paid sick time, and 12 paid holidays, 8 hours of paid volunteer time off, 8 weeks of paid parental leave for both Moms and Dads, Company matched 401(k), Tuition reimbursement, Expanded mental health coverage and employee assistance programs.
