The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and advancing evidence-based policy solutions that address the needs of underserved students. This role is pivotal in driving the organization's vision of a transformed education system by 2040, and the CPPO will be at the forefront of identifying and implementing the most impactful statewide policies. Key responsibilities include leading the policy strategy, managing a portfolio of significant issues, and ensuring the effective implementation of policies in California schools. The CPPO will also be instrumental in coalition building, working with a range of partners to advocate for systemic change that promotes equity and long-term impact. The ideal candidate for the CPPO position at the company will have a minimum of 12 years' experience in education, with a focus on school system leadership, policy, research, and advocacy. They should have a proven track record of leading strategic policy reform and managing high-performing teams. A deep understanding of the education landscape, including teaching and learning, is essential, as is a passion for driving change in public education. The role requires a strategic, hands-on leader who can work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, and who is committed to the continuous learning and growth of both themselves and their team.
