Middle School Teacher, Grades 5-8

Holy Spirit Catholic School, located in Brighton, MI, is now accepting applications for a full time middle school, grades 5-8, homeroom teacher. About Holy Spirit Catholic SchoolHoly Spirit Catholic School offers a distinctively Catholic formation of children and youth through excellence in education while maintaining loyalty and obedience to the Magisterium of the Church.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesCurriculum and Lesson Planning: Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with grade-level standards and curriculum across subject areas.Differentiated Instruction: Implement a variety of teaching techniques to meet the diverse needs of students.Classroom Environment: Create a positive, structured, and collaborative classroom environment that is centered on Catholic values and promotes student learning and growthDiscipline: Approach student discipline from a spiritual approach that cultivates virtue and, like St. John Bosco's Preventative System, focuses more on preventing misconduct through "reason, religion, and loving kindness," rather than punishment.Communication: Communicate regularly, effectively, and collaboratively with all members of the school community, including parents, faculty, staff, and students.Model Catholic Faith: Actively participate in daily school prayers, Mass, Catholic devotions, and other liturgical traditions as well as model Catholic virtues for students.QualificationsFidelity to Catholic Teaching: Must be passionately Catholic and in full communion with the Magisterium of the Church, embracing and promoting the mission of Holy Spirit Catholic School.Education: Bachelor degree from an accredited four-year college or university in teaching or in a related field.Experience: Prior elementary and/or middle school teaching experience is preferred, but not requiredSkills:Strong verbal and written proficiency.Passion for learning and for teaching in ways that inspire wonder and awe and a passion for learning in others.Advanced understanding of mathematics.For more information, please contact Kimberly Pavlock, principal, at kpavlock@holyspiritrcs.org.
