The business delivers care across a diverse set of service lines and operates within a complex, physician-centric environment, balancing both fee-for-service and value-based care models.The Vice President of Operations will serve as a senior leader responsible for a significant portion of the organization’s operating footprint, overseeing multiple service lines and a P&L exceeding $150M. This individual will report directly to executive leadership and play a critical role in driving performance, standardization, and scalable growth across the platform.This role will have responsibility for a core portion of the organization’s Midwest footprint, partnering closely with leadership to support continued expansion and operational consistency across markets.This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced operator who thrives in dynamic healthcare environments and is comfortable navigating complexity, ambiguity, and scale.Role OverviewThe Vice President will lead operations across a broad portfolio of clinical services, partnering closely with physician leadership, functional executives, and frontline teams to improve access, efficiency, financial performance, and patient outcomes.This role requires a leader who can operate both strategically and tactically—setting direction while also ensuring disciplined execution across a multi-site environment. The VP will be expected to drive alignment across service lines, elevate operational consistency, and build infrastructure to support continued growth.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership & PerformanceProvide strategic oversight of day-to-day operations across multiple service lines within a large, multi-site healthcare organization.Drive performance against key metrics, including access, throughput, patient experience, and financial outcomes.Establish structured operating cadences, reporting mechanisms, and accountability frameworks to ensure consistent execution.P&L Ownership & Financial ManagementMaintain full accountability for a $150M+ P&L, including revenue growth, cost control, and margin improvement.Partner closely with finance to develop budgets, forecasts, and performance improvement plans.Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and optimize resource allocation across the organization.Physician & Clinical PartnershipCollaborate closely with physician leadership to align operational priorities with clinical objectives.Support service line growth, provider engagement, and practice optimization initiatives.Build strong relationships and credibility with both clinical and administrative stakeholders.Strategic Execution & TransformationLead high-impact initiatives, including service line expansion, operational redesign, and performance improvement programs.Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans with clear milestones and measurable outcomes.Drive change management across a complex, multi-site organization.Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of operational leaders.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Build organizational capabilities to support scale, including talent development and succession planning.Qualifications10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, preferably within multi-site provider organizations.Demonstrated experience managing large-scale operations with significant P&L responsibility.Proven track record of improving operational performance and leading complex initiatives.Experience working closely with physicians and clinical leaders in ambulatory or outpatient settings.Familiarity with both fee-for-service and value-based care models.Proven ability to lead through influence in matrixed, fast-paced environments.Candidate ProfileStrategic thinker with a strong execution focus.Comfortable operating in complex and evolving environments.Data-driven decision-maker with strong financial acumen.Collaborative leader with executive presence and the ability to influence at all levels.High level of ownership, accountability, and adaptability.LocationMidwest-based candidates preferred, with regular in-market presence required.Why This RoleOpportunity to step into a senior leadership position within a scaled healthcare organization at a critical inflection point.Broad scope with direct exposure to executive leadership.Ability to drive meaningful impact across a diverse and expanding operational footprint.Ideal for a leader motivated to operate at scale, shape strategy, and deliver measurable results in a complex, multi-site environment.
