Customer Service Rep. - Motor Vehicle Titles and Registration

Motor Vehicle Titles and RegistrationReporting directly to a Motor Vehicle Tax Manager, responsible for assisting the general public and tax payers regarding all motor vehicle transactions in accordance with state laws and regulations.Examples of work performed include:Processes walk-in property tax payments or registration renewalsProvides backup assistance at different locationsAttends all meetings and trainings, as requiredPerforms special duties as assignedProcesses title transfers, new resident transfers, temporary registration permitsProcesses WebAgent registration batches and verifies and replenishes inventoryScans and files appropriate documents according to record retention rulesIssues disability placards and when necessary, communicates with physician officesEnsures documentation from customers is complete and accurateProvides customers with checklist of the documentation needed to complete title transfersProcess WebDealer title transactionsResponds to inquiries from general public, dealerships, and other agenciesReconciles processed transactions with the vendor reportsOrders specialty plates and determines if customers are eligible for qualifying requestsIssues temporary registration permitsCalculates and collects all applicable fees and taxes for motor vehicle transactionsProcesses and codes all cash, check, ACH and credit card payments with accuracyBalances cash drawers daily at the end of shiftMaintains confidentiality pertaining to court orders, divorce decrees, death certificates and other sensitive information provided in accordance with federal privacy lawsAssists managers with deposits and examining previous day's title workOrganization relationships:Reports directly to – Motor Vehicle Tax ManagerDirect Reports – NoPhysical demands:Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, repetitive motions, and standingPosition involves occasional lifting and carrying of up to fifty (50) pounds and exertion of up to twenty-five (25) pounds of force to move objectsEnvironmental factors:Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environmentOccasional travel between work sites as requiredIrregular hours:Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be requiredThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
