EHS Advisor – Data Centre Construction

About the Role
A leading international construction and engineering contractor is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor to support major data centre construction projects in Belgium. Working closely with Project Managers and the wider EHS team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, responsibly, and in full compliance with statutory requirements. You’ll be hands‑on across site activities, helping to embed a proactive safety culture while supporting high standards of environmental and occupational safety performance. This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional looking to develop their experience within mission‑critical, fast‑paced construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation of the company’s EHS policies to prevent injury, ill health, environmental harm, and damage
Promote a proactive safety culture across construction sites
Ensure compliance with local and statutory EHS requirements
Carry out regular site safety inspections, audits, and reporting
Track and ensure close‑out of corrective actions within agreed timescales
Support accident and incident investigations, including reporting and follow‑up actions
Ensure all site operatives and subcontractors receive appropriate inductions
Monitor welfare facilities, site setup, and statutory notice displays
Review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for suitability
Ensure permit‑to‑work systems are correctly implemented
Monitor COSHH compliance and environmental protection measures
Key Requirements
Relevant qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline
NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
Proven EHS experience within construction environments
Knowledge of statutory health, safety, and environmental regulations
Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and investigations
Confident working with project teams and site management
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work across live, fast‑track construction sites
