SchedulePrimarily 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM shiftOccasional coverage for 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM shift as needed Minimum QualificationsAt least 1 year of nursing experience requiredCorrectional experience not required Required CredentialsActive Rhode Island Registered Nurse LicenseCPR/BLS CertificationPPD (TB test)COVID Proof of Vaccination Additional RequirementsReliable transportation required (floating between facilities)Background check form must be completed and submitted with application Key ResponsibilitiesConduct nursing sick calls and new patient assessmentsDevelop nursing diagnoses, care plans, and referralsProvide treatments, therapies, and health educationMonitor patient health status and adjust care plansAssess mental health and refer as neededAdminister medications via PO, SL, Buccal, SQ, IM, IV, and Parenteral routesMaintain medication accountability and documentationStart and maintain IV lines and infusion pumpsPerform complex wound care and dressing changesRespond to emergencies and provide life supportCollaborate with healthcare teams Document all care in EMRMaintain security of clinical areas and keysReport unusual inmate behaviorPerform additional duties and trainings as required Facility & Transportation DetailsRIDOC campus includes 6 facilitiesAssigned to one facility per shift, with possible rotationFloating between facilities required based on needs Submission RequirementsBackground check form required at submissionAdditional documents required upon selection Start is as soon as possible so preferably all required credentials are already completed. Orientation will be 3 days starting at 8:30am. RN will orient at all facilities and be expected to work at any facility. Regular shifts will begin after that.No set end date but expect at least 6 months. Resources may be asked to work every other weekend. Facility & Transportation Details:- RIDOC campus includes 6 facilities- Assigned to one facility per shift, with possible rotation- Floating between facilities required based on needs Credentials Needed before Start -ResumeState License appropriate to the positionCPR / BLSCovidTB - equivalent to 1-step, within the past year
