We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our premier oral surgery and biologic dental practice. The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a skilled RN who brings both technical excellence and compassionate patient care. You're someone who is excited about the evolving field of biologic dentistry and understands that optimal surgical outcomes require attention to both surgical precision and systemic health considerations.
Key Responsibilities
Surgical Support:
Provide expert surgical assistance during oral surgery procedures including extractions, implant placement, bone grafting, and other surgical interventions
Anticipate surgeon's needs and maintain sterile field throughout procedures
Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during surgical procedures
Assist with conscious sedation monitoring as needed
IV Therapy & Phlebotomy:
Initiate and maintain IV access for surgical patients
Administer IV medications and fluids as directed
Perform phlebotomy for biologic testing and therapies
Monitor IV sites and manage potential complications
Patient Care:
Conduct pre-operative assessments and patient interviews
Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient education and instructions
Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout all phases of care
Address patient concerns with empathy and clinical expertise
Follow up with patients post-operatively as needed
Clinical Operations:
Maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation
Coordinate care with the surgical team and support staff
Prepare and maintain surgical suites to exacting standards
Required Qualifications
Active Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Current BLS/ACLS certification
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in surgical or perioperative settings
Demonstrated expertise in IV insertion and administration
Proven phlebotomy skills and experience
Strong knowledge of surgical asepsis and infection control
Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills
Superior organizational abilities and attention to detail
Outstanding communication skills and professional bedside manner
Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic
Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
Preferred Qualifications
Surgical assisting experience strongly preferred
CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) or perioperative nursing certification
Experience in oral surgery, maxillofacial surgery, or dental settings
Background in or openness to biologic, holistic, or integrative healthcare approaches
Conscious sedation monitoring experience
Knowledge of dental anatomy and oral surgical procedures
Experience with electronic health records systems
Familiarity with biocompatible materials and biologic protocols
